34 Weeks

34 weeks along. 6 weeks to go! If I were my mom, I would be going into labor right now, since she had me a whole 6 weeks early! :-) 99% of babies at this age can survive outside the womb, so I'm glad to have reached this point.

Bradley should be about 18 inches long and weigh 4 3/4 pounds. His lungs are well developed by now. His central nervous system is still maturing, and he is filling out with some fat. He plays with us all the time. It makes me giggle when he plays with Xon because Xon just gasps in amazement. :-) So far, Bradley hasn't kept me awake at night with kicking. We seem to be on the same sleep schedule because as soon as I wake up for the day, he gives me a little kick to say "Good morning!" (Or maybe he's just telling me he's hungry.) :-) I especially love feeling that kick.

You know the nesting instinct has kicked in when you have to wash all the dishes in your cabinets--even though they are already perfectly clean. :-) The problem with nesting coming at the end of pregnancy is that I get tired pretty easily. So it takes me about 4 days to do one little task. I will work for 20 minutes and then rest, work for 20 minutes and rest... I feel like there is so much to be done, and I have to remind myself that it's ok if the computer keyboard doesn't get cleaned.

I haven't had any practice contractions yet. I do waddle a little bit. It helps to keep my balance. My belly button is also starting to stick out the tiniest bit. Throughout my pregnancy, I have looked back at the scrapbook I made for Dawn when she was pregnant with Alex. At this point, buttons were popping off her shirt, and people were asking her if she was sure she wasn't having twins. I'm sure someone will ask me that any day now!
