17 Weeks

17 weeks along. 23 to go!

Babykins is about 5 inches long now. The most exciting thing about this week is that his/her hearing is developing. So now he/she will hear how loud Daddy is. ;-)

In doctor news, I had some blood work done yesterday to check for Down Syndrome and things like that.

I had a baby dream a few nights ago. I was poking my tummy, and I could see Babykins' head sticking out of my tummy under the skin. I pulled the baby out, saw that it was a boy, and then stuck it back in my tummy.

Speaking of my tummy, I'm hoping to go shopping tonight to get some maternity pants that have a panel in them instead of just an elastic waist--as my belly is starting to protest the tight quarters.

I think I can officially say that morning sickness is over with, so that is good news! I am exercising regularly and eating fairly normally. As one of our professors says, I'm in that happy 2nd trimester stage where I'm done with throwing up but not yet in the completely uncomfortable stage. I am enjoying it, for sure!
