Update

I posted a few pics in some of the previous posts, so you can scroll down and look at them. I have the cutest 4-week old picture that I will post asap.

In Bradley news, I weighed him at the pediatrician's today since we wanted to see how he was responding to cutting back on the supplement a little. We wanted him to have gained at least 2 ounces, and he gained 3.5, so that was great! (He's up to 8 pounds, 9.7 ounces.) I have to call the lactation consultant to see how long we should keep at the 1 ounce then 1/2 ounce feeding schedule.

He growls when he is frustrated. He holds his neck up quite a bit and looks at me. He pays attention to sounds and looks around a lot. When I'm feeding him, you can see him thinking when he hears a sound and tries to figure out what it is. He smiles a lot right before he goes to sleep. Dr. Sears calls these sleep smiles. Fitting name, huh? I was feeding Bradley tonight, and I got distracted for a few minutes and wasn't watching him. When I looked back at him, he had the biggest smile on his face and was taking a nice snooze. That used to frustrate the dickens out of me because I just wanted him to eat, but now it cracks me up (most of the time, anyway).

I am a total mess when I take Bradley out in public so far. I'm sure I look like a deer caught in the headlights. I'm definitely not that mom who has three kids in tow and yet looks like she just stepped out of a magazine. For one, I have an irrational fear that if I'm not touching Bradley at all times, someone will steal him. I mean at ALL times. Even if there's no one around. Dawn says she still has this fear, and Alex is about 19 months, so I guess I'm normal. :-) I also have no idea what people are saying when they talk to me because I'm sweating so hard and can't think straight. I guess I respond appropriately b/c no one seems to give me weird looks. Or maybe I just don't notice them. :-)
